Build Simple Wooden Clothes Hamper

Tilt Out Laundry Hamper Plans

Saving space can be a big problem, especially when it comes to objects you use occasionally. Folding wooden clothes hamper can be easily stored when not in use, leaving more room for other things. A folding wooden basket can be made using an “X” shaped support structure on the main shaft, with a bag attached to the upper frame. The bag can be made removable using snap fasteners, which allows the frame to fold and the bag can be removed when it is time to wash the clothes. Cut four 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) pieces of wood by 1 and 1/2 inch (40 cm) and 1/4 inch (102 cm) long, which will serve as basket holders.

Cut two 1/2-inch rod pieces, 18 “(45 cm) long. Cut two additional 1/2 inch rod pieces, 17 inches (43 cm) long. Place the four supports on the floor, so that the ends are at the same height. From one of the ends of the supports, it measures the distances of 1, 20 1/8, and 39 1/4 inches (2.54, 52 and 100 cm). Mark these distances on the four support wooden laundry hamper plans. With a drill, drill 1/2-inch holes in the middle of each mark on each of the supports. Place two of the side supports 18 inches apart from each other. Place glue in the holes below and above each of the brackets.

Insert an 18-inch rod into the top and bottom of the bracket, so that each end of the rod stays firm in the hole. The result will be a box that will serve as half of the frame diy wood laundry hamper, with two 1/2 inch and two-inch sides of the 1/2-inch wood. Let it dry. Repeat with other brackets and 17-inch rods. The resulting structure will be just smaller than the first one so that it will enter through the 18-inch aperture. Place a 1/4 inch nut in the middle hole of each 17-inch bracket. Slide the 17-inch frame into the other, 18-inch frame. Align the center holes on each side of the boxes.

Place a nylon washer over a 1/4 inch screw by 1 1/4 inch. Insert the screw into the middle holes of each frame wood laundry basket and place a nut on the inside. Repeat this on the other side of the frame. Cut a piece of canvas 36 by 72 inches (91 x 182 cm). Cut eight 2-by-3-inch (5 x 7.6 cm) canvas strips. Measure each 72-inch piece and make a mark at 2, 14, 40, and 52 inches (5, 35, 101, and 132 cm). Sew the tip of each canvas strip on each of the marks.
